The new Emergency Department Behavioral Health Unit at the Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center in Columbia, Maryland opened its doors to patients on December 5, 2024. Every detail of this 7000 square foot, state-of-the-art treatment center was designed with the safety of staff and patients in mind. Just as important, the light-filled space with private bedrooms and bathrooms, also has windows, murals, and comfortable seating and activity areas to create the perfect environment for calm, healing, and compassionate care.
